It’s the membership drive! Throughout the month of August, the Oak Hills PTA is holding a membership drive. At the end of the month, the grade with the highest percentage of members will receive a special treat! To be included in your child(ren)’s class counts, each family must have at least one paid member (parent, guardian, student, supporter, or grandparent). All members that have joined since July 1st will be counted. Progress in the membership drive will be updated weekly.
*See the weekly percentages of each class and grade by clicking HERE*
Why join the PTA? You are an important part of the Oak Hills community. By becoming a member of the Oak Hills PTA, you also become a member of the nation’s largest children’s advocacy association working to improve the lives of all children and families. Joining the PTA is the best ways to stay informed and keep connected to the school.
What does it cost and where does the money go? Annual membership in the PTA costs $10 plus a $1 processing fee if you pay through the online TOTEM platform. The majority of the money goes directly to California State and District PTA organizations to support their advocacy efforts. Our local Oak Hills PTA retains a smaller portion of these dues and thus we will be fundraising in the coming months. Any donations made through the online TOTEM platform will go directly to the California PTA and will not stay at Oak Hills. Please contact us directly if you would like to make an additional donation.
Do I have to volunteer? No, joining the PTA does not obligate you to share your time or your talents. It just means that you want to be informed about what is happening at Oak Hills. The PTA does hope that you will share your voice and your thoughts! We are always looking for feedback (and volunteers!) to help enrich our children’s school experience.
“Always Be Pawsitive” at Oak Hills! This year we are celebrating all things pets and the positive role they play in our lives. So get ready to share all about your pets in our upcoming survey.
Calling All Artists!
The new Reflections theme
for 2022-2023 is
Show Your Voice.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create and submit original works of art in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.
Let the 2022-2023 theme Show Your Voice spark your imagination and creativity in school and at home. We encourage you to get started early and think about it over summer.
We look forward to seeing all our Coyote Creativity in the fall!

New Shade Structures
After two years of dreaming, Oak Hills PTA members approved the purchase of a 20’ x 80’ shade structure at last Wednesday’s association meeting. This monumental $110,000 purchase is made possible thanks to fundraising, pandemic savings, and generous private donations. The shade structure will provide covered seating for over 120 students and will be located adjacent to the playground (see attached artistic renderings). We are pleased to share that the permit process is underway, and the structure will hopefully be installed next fall. Our next goal is to secure funds for the purchase of 14 seating tables.
We are so excited to be able to finally bring more shade to our kids!
