SCHOLASTIC NEWS AND STORYWORKS Scholastic News and Storyworks publications are provided by the PTA to classrooms to enhance learning in two different ways. Scholastic News is a non-fiction magazine that exposes students to various real-world topics with engaging texts that explore science, social studies and various other issues. Storyworks supports language arts learning through interesting stories that help to improve vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Various literary styles are covered including non-fiction, fiction and poetic texts. |
ACCELERATED READER
Accelerated Reader is a program funded by the PTA that helps students, teachers and parents monitor students' reading progress and comprehension. Students set goals, and are rewarded for reaching those goals by taking part in fun activities at the end of each trimester as well as a reward assembly at the end of the year. |
PBIS
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. It aims to promote positive behavior by rewarding students with HOWL tickets that they can redeem once a month at the PBIS prize cart. |
