PROGRAMS & EVENTS
Pastries with Parents is a special morning event for parents and students to enjoy donuts together in
the MPR before school starts.

Coffee and donuts are
provided by the PTA.
Every year, PTA hosts an outdoor movie night right in our own school yard! It's a fun way for our school families to get together, sit under the stars and enjoy a family friendly movie. 
Treats, food and drinks are usually for sale. Families are asked to bring blankets and chairs.
Reflections is a national PTA program that invites students to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas:
Dance Choreography, Literature, Photography, Film Production, Music Composition & Visual Arts
 Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of making positive decisions and embracing healthy choices. Every day is a new opportunity to make wise choices, and together we can create a brighter, happier, and healthier future!
Families are invited to join their student for lunch after school on a selected Friday (minimum day). Families and their students can socialize and enjoy lunch together on the school lawn. Parents should bring blankets, chairs and a lunch for their child as well as themselves.
The Scholastic Book Fair happens twice a year. It's a great way to encourage reading, build your home library, and support our classroom libraries - all while supporting the PTA at the same time.



Every October, PTA hosts the Fall Festival, one of our most popular events of the year! The Fall Festival is filled with lots of family friendly Halloween themed events, food and drinks for sale, games and more. Families are encouraged to come in costume to join in on the fun.
The Variety Show is a fun once-a-year opportunity for students to show off their skills and talents! All types of performances are encouraged - taekwondo, singing, dancing, instruments and more!
The Sock Hop is a 1950's themed dance for the whole family. Activities include games, face painting, root beer floats, an interactive DJ as well as pizza & snacks.
Family Art Night happens once a year. It gives an opportunity for families to spend time together while creating a memorable art piece they can take home!




The Fairytale Ball is a
school-wide dance where all Oak Hills students are invited to attend with a parent/adult as their date. It's a fun opportunity to dress up and dance the night away.
Game Night is a fun event for the whole family. Everyone gets the chance to win prizes in each round. Free drinks and snacks are provided, while supplies last.
The Holiday Shop is a fun and easy way to get kids involved in holiday gift giving. Each class is given a day and time slot to visit the shop where they can purchase gifts for loved ones.



Multicultural Night is a unique opportunity for our Oak Hills families to share and celebrate their diverse cultural backgrounds through food, activities, and sharing of traditions.
ASSEMBLIES, FIELD TRIPS AND MORE
ASSEMBLIES
PTA funds various assemblies throughout the school year. Assemblies are a fun, interactive way for our students to learn about various topics, such as sea life, music, dance, different cultures, and more.
FIELD TRIPS
Every year, PTA funds off-campus field trips for each grade level. Past field trips have included the LA Zoo, Discovery Cube, Valley Trails and Underwood Farms. Field trips give students a hands-on opportunity to apply concepts they've learned about in the classroom.
LEARNING ENRICHMENT
SCHOLASTIC NEWS AND STORYWORKS
Scholastic News and Storyworks publications are provided by the PTA to classrooms to enhance learning in two different ways. Scholastic News is a non-fiction magazine that exposes students to various real-world topics with engaging texts that explore science, social studies and various other issues. Storyworks supports language arts learning through interesting stories that help to improve vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Various literary styles are covered including non-fiction, fiction and poetic texts.
ACCELERATED READER
Accelerated Reader is a program funded by the PTA that helps students, teachers and parents monitor students' reading progress and comprehension. Students set goals, and are rewarded for reaching those goals by taking part in fun activities at the end of each trimester as well as a reward assembly at the end of the year.
PBIS PROGRAM

In 2024, Oak Hills received the Silver Award from the California PBIS Recognition Committee.
PBIS
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. It aims to promote positive behavior by rewarding students with HOWL tickets that they can redeem once a month at the PBIS prize cart.
